When 110 VDC and 24VDC components are fitted to metal plates is it necessary to have an earth wire bonded?

In most power supplies the neutral connection or ground connection of the AC power outlet is connected to the chassis case. If you have physically bonded the cases of each to the metal plate then there is no need for a separate wire. However, you should confirm that the neutral or ground pin on your chassis’ power plug is indeed tied to the chassis.

Note: Your power supplies may have a transformer input which would isolate the units from earth ground. If both chassis are so provided, then you are isolated from earth and there is no need to connect the plate to earth or be concerned about it.

why not just do it,what will it hurt as long as the 24 v component isn’t an isolated unit,if both units are to be grounded a ground is a ground,no matter the voltage
